Seeking an experienced Corporate Procurement Director with expertise in purchasing, supply chain, and contract negotiations related to large mobile fleets of chemical transportation and liquid waste handling vehicles. Our client is a premiere provider of hazardous and nonhazardous wastewater collection, treatment, and oil recovery services, providing a wide range of safe environmental solutions for Industrial and Manufacturing customers throughout the U.S.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead company-wide transition from regional purchasing functions to centralized corporate procurement strategies for mobile transportation fleet and chemical purchasing functions.
- Establish consistent purchasing policies, procedures, supplier evaluations, and vendor selection criteria.
- Ensure all transportation related policies, programs, and procedures are consistent with applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations (including OSHA, IOSH, FMCSA and DOT) within relevant standards, best practices and recommended guidelines.
- Develop national procurement strategy in multiple categories, issue regional pricing guidelines, while adjusting tactical action plans in dynamic market conditions.
- Leverage supplier reduction process to strengthen strategic business partnerships while reducing total cost of operations for the enterprise.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Utilize advanced data analytics and data visualization tools, conduct simulation analyses of transportation routes, standard operating costs, and overall performance data.
- Establish KPIs to analyze and track performance gains, reporting results to executive leadership.
- Travel to regional sites as needed to ensure consistent implementation of process improvements.
Qualifications Include:
- BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Finance, or Economics is preferred.
- 10+ years of national Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain experience related to large mobile fleet (500+ units) of chemical transportation tractors, tankers, trailers, and related service vehicles.
- 5+ years of multi-site Supervisory or Managerial experience.
- Professional certifications such as: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, APICS CSCP, CLTD, CPIM, CSCMP SCPRO, CTL, CTP, or related credentials are a plus.
- Expertise in fleet and asset optimization, including asset allocation, purchasing, subcontractor utilization, and route mapping.
- Excellent business acumen and contract negotiation skills, having the ability to build consensus with suppliers, operations, legal, and executive leadership.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of implementing change.
- Highly organized, strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task in rapidly changing environments.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced skills using supply chain planning/forecasting and data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru, JDA, etc. is a plus.
- Experience with any major MRP system (MS Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Sage, JD Edwards, etc.)
- Ability to travel up to 25% to various company locations as needed.
